afutureancient: Yesterday, I attended @officialtimbaland #Betweenthelines conversation at the @schomburgcenter . It was an interesting conversation, especially when he mentioned the project he is working on, called “Opera Noir,” which he is planning on developing into a show. The show is centered on the idea of what if African-American-based slavery didn’t end in 1865 (although that date can be argued based on the documentary “Slavery by Another Name”) and continued to today, what would it look like today. He also discussed how sound and music are part of everyday life, even delving into sounds and technology, weaponry and mind control (he mentioned how some of his music was used for purposes he didn’t know about).
